Surgeons of Hope, The Day Family: Generation Two

Prologue:

Hi, my name is Victor Day and along with my lovely new wife, Cara, we are pleased to welcome you to the unofficial start of the second generation of the Day family. Dad and Mom are still alive and well. Both retired just after our wedding celebrations were over but that only lasted for one day for Johanna (Mom) as she wanted to do what she does best and take care of her patients. Unfortunately the medical positions were filled in the hospital back in Riverview but as soon as the administrator of the health care center in Twinbrook heard that Johanna was looking to return to work they offered her a resident position which she gladly accepted. So after hiring a moving company to move all of our belongings including our house we moved to Twinbrook and found a lovely lot for our home on Puddlewick Drive, just past the bridge.

Dad is still enjoying his retirement but don't be surprise if he decides to go back to work until the Grim Reaper comes a calling. Personally I think Dad and Mom want to stick around to see some grandchildren born so I guess Cara and I will just have to get busy on that one. Cara plans to keep working at the book store for now as she wants to be able to be home during the day to take care of our future little ones.

Now, I know you're all anxiously awaiting the details of our wedding. After a wonderful bachelor party last Saturday complete with dancing girls and getting drenched with nectar fizz, Cara and I were married at the lovely little wedding chapel in Riverview with all of our friends in attendance. Our wedding pictures will give you all the details.

Carter was able to attend our wedding as well before leaving to fulfill his duties as a personal caregiver to a dear friend of ours, Amari, who is expecting twins and needed extra care to ensue that the babies arrived safely into this world. Amari and Carter had met on an online chat and became good friends and Carter had found out that she was going through a very stressful time in her live with demands coming at her from every which way and she was being forced by someone to bear several babies in her lifetime. Since Carter is the only friend she has to confide in, he felt it necessary to be close to her as her friend and doctor. Cara and I, along with Oliver and Johanna send our best wishes to Amari and pray that everything will work out for her.

Chapter One: Life in Twinbrook and Second Chances Life has settled into a nice routine here in Twinbrook although not without the ups and downs of being celebrities. Sometimes the paparazzi make me so made when they stick their big noses into where they don't belong and then spread lies about us throughout the town. After our wedding night, like any newlyweds Cara and I did the romantic stuff that couples do in private to try and have a baby and then I was accused of making out with a 'cult'. How dare the paparazzi accuse my lovely wife, Cara of being a cult. Oh well, that's the life of a celebrity being the center of false accusations, rumors and all that really matters is the love that Cara and I have for each other. For the record, Cara did get pregnant right away and we just welcomed our first child into the world, a healthy, happy little girl whom we named Tara. Tara just celebrated her toddler birthday and is Daddy's precious little black haired daughter. Tara's uncle Carter sent her a doll but our mailbox seems to be haunted or something as we haven't been able to get our mail. That's OK though as we would rather Tara grow up developing friendships with her classmates in school and she's happy just playing with her toys. Cara and I are looking forward to having more children and can't wait to see how they grow up and what their career choices will be and hopefully one of them will want to be a surgeon like me to carry on our legacy. A few days after we settled into Twinbrook we almost lost Mom as the Grim Reaper came for her one night after speaking to our town leaders about an equipment shortage at the hospital. Fortunately, Johanna had a death flower in her inventory to offer Mr Grim, he was so happy that he not only let her live but allowed her to start her senior life all over again. When Dad found out that Mom didn't die, he decided to go back to work as well for he also had a death flower in his inventory which came in handy earlier today when Mr Grim came a calling for him, so now he gets to grow old again with Johanna. Dad and Mom are thinking of getting their own place sometime but want to stick around for more grandchildren. Work is going well and I've just been promoted to intern and have had the opportunity to host a couple of vaccination clinics. Dad and Mom are well on their way or regaining the title of World Renown Surgeon as they both had to start back at resident status when they returned to work but are now both Gene Therapists. Cara is still working at the bookstore so she can be home with Tara in the mornings and Dad and Mom get home shortly after two in the afternoon, so we haven't had to call a babysitter, yet. Well that's all the news for now and please join the Day family in their new home in Twinbrook as Cara and I seek to honor our parents in the second generation of "Surgeons of Hope".

Take care,

Victor Day

A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes: Generation One

Introduction

Hi, my name is Cheryl Malifa (nee Steel) and like my parents, Marcus and I were forced to leave Barnacle Bay with our family when a hurricane destroyed much of the town.  We had been thinking of moving anyway as Marcus had been offered a job transfer to the science lab in Bridgeport.  Our son, Lucas has not been doing that well in school, so we are hoping  that he'll focus more on his studies at his new school and less on play so that his grades improve.

We purchased some land across from Lucas's school on Backdrop parkway where we rebuilt our house. Fortunately we were one of the few families who were able to salvage all our belongings from the devestating hurricane.   My younger brother, Ishmael and his wife Consuelo have also moved to Bridgeport as Ishmael was also offered the same job transfer as Marcus.  They found a lot for their house located in the hills on the other side of the Bridgeport Bridge.  Unfortunately our birth records were lost when the Barnacle Bay town offices were flooded during the storm, so to the public Ishmael and Consuelo will appear to be close friends of ours but in my heart Ishmael will always be my baby brother and of course his wife is still my sister-in-law.

The move seems to be working as Lucas is more diligent at doing his homework, now.  Marcus and I have also been able to teach Linus how to walk and talk.  Linus loves playing with his special doll that his grandparents gave him when he was born.  We plan to expand our family in the near future so stay tuned for further little bundles of joy in our household.

Marcus and I have discussed with each other about what kind of legacy we would like to have our heir carry on into the generations to come.  While my grandparents' (Christopher and Jan Steel) faithfulness and my parents' music  will continue to passed on in our family, we have decided that we want each of our children to realize and achieve their lifetime goals and dreams while teach good moral values to their families and being upright citizens in their respective communities and to never look down on others no matter what their social standing is and to help others in need.

This has been a brief introduction to the Malifa family legacy and I am thrilled to be able to write our story and  be a part of a triple legacy: first generation Malifa, second generation to my parents' music legacy and third generation to the founding Steel legacy of faithfulness.   It's quite a lot for Marcus and I to live up to but with hard work, devotion, and love the Malifa family is up for the challenge.

Chapter One:  Family Life

A few weeks after we got settled in Bridgeport,  my brother Ishmael and his wife, Consuelo moved back to Barnacle Bay after she was offered a journalist position there.  Just before they left, Ishmael and Consuelo adopted a baby boy, Paulo who is now the cutest toddler that you ever did see.  Marcus and I wish them all the best.

My sister Carrie, sad to say, is no longer with the family as one day she just vanished without a trace and no one knows what happened to her.  Iris has also moved to town in the next state that is also called Bridgeport with her two friends Scotty and Jane who were Ian and Iris's imaginary friends that they were able to make real.  Scotty and Jane have recently gotten married and have just had a baby girl, Alexandra.  Marcus and I are still hoping that Iris meets her special someone someday and is able to have her own family.

Our move to Bridgeport has turned out to be a blessing in disguise as Lucas is finally doing well in school and has made the honor roll.  Marcus and I looking forward to seeing what he decides to do with his life as he will be the heir in our family to carry on the Steel and Malifa legacies.  Linus is now in school and already wants to be a world renown surgeon someday.   Please join Marcus and I as we happily welcomed our third little boy into the world, Curtis who was born happy, healthy,  friendly and with a love for the outdoors which gives him a good appetite.  It's kind of interesting that Marcus and I now have three boys and my brother, Ian and his wife Autumn now have three girls.  Maybe Ishmael and Consuelo will have both.

Marcus and I are quickly making new friends in Bridgeport and get invited to various social events around the city.  Ace Wilde, Mick Situp, and Armstrong Diesel are all co-workers of Marcus and they have become good friends.  My fishing career is starting to take off and I've caught many different kinds of fish including piranha, blowfish, catfish, and jellyfish.   Lucas also has a part-time job at the local spa to help him gain work experience and earn extra money.

That's all for now and to all of our friends may all your dreams in life come true.

Your friends,
Cheryl and Marcus Malifa

A Double Legacy of Kindness by Patricia Steel

Chapter One:  New Town,  New Beginnings

Hi, my name is Patricia Steel and I'm Ryder's youngest sister from the famous Steel family who now are living in the lovely town of Twinbrook.  Upon graduation from high school, I was offered a position at the science lab in the small town of Hidden Springs.  It is a beautiful place with lots of little parks and fishing holes for those who love the outdoors.  The town also has a wonderful spa and some clubs where you go to meet the towns people.  I was able to find a moving company that was able to move the house I had purchased in Twinbrook and with the help of my real estate agent found a beautiful little piece of land on a little side street called Bristlecone Way and the movers expertly put my house on the lot.  There is also a beautiful little park next to my property.

Shortly after I moved in, Ryder called me to see if I'd be willing to take in a couple of house guests.  Ryder's pen pal from high school, Michael Cal, had written him to see if he knew of any place in Hidden Springs where is brother, Miguel could stay while going to school there as he had been offered a scholarship at the local college.  Beth, who was Misty's imaginary friend and had been made real, had also accepted a position at the local journalism office.  I readily agreed for any friend of Ryder's is a friend of mine and I also wanted to show kindness to them and make Miguel and Beth feel right at home.  Of course I had to do a little renovating to add two more bedrooms but I didn't mind as I couldn't have them sleep on the floor.   We've all become fast friends and I like Miguel a lot but will take our relationship slow as he is still in high school and there is quite an age difference but that doesn't matter when it comes to true love.  Beth is a sweet girl and I hope she can find her soul mate here in Hidden Springs as well.

In thinking about what kind of legacy I would like to leave behind, I think one of kindness would be important.   It is my belief that no matter what a person's social standing is, whether famous or not, one should always show kindness to their fellow humans and being famous does not give a person the right to snub or look down at others just because they are not in the same class as you.  I know of celebrities who unless you can impress them they will have nothing to do with you and I refuse to be that type of celebrity and hopefully will teach my future children to treat others with kindness and respect and to use our good fortune to help others who are in need.

Both Miguel and Beth have settled in well to life in Hidden Springs.  It didn't take long for Miguel to impress his new teachers and get on the honor roll like he was back in Twinbrook.   He keeps in contact with his family back home and was thrilled when Michael sent him an email announcing the arrival of his new niece,  Ruby.  Since he couldn't get away to see her in person, Miguel sent her a special doll that she can play with and maybe someday make real.   Miguel is also happy that his sister, Mitzi found her true love and is now married as you know to Zachery Jones-Brown.  We all send the happy couple our best wishes.

Miguel has some exciting news that he would like to share.   While he was away in France doing an assignment for school, Miguel was doing some exploring in the local museum's basement and found a beautiful rainbow gem.  He was so excited about his discovery that Miguel couldn't wait to get home to take it to the science lab.    After purchasing the special potion, Miguel gave the potion to his imaginary friend, Luis the next morning and poof,  Luis became a handsome young teen with dark red hair who has swept Beth off her feet but they have to wait until he graduates to make their relationship public.    Beth is now off on her first trip to China to see what treasures she can find there.

Chapter Two:  Move to Barnacle Bay

How do you like that,  we  were just getting settled into life here in Hidden Springs and Beth and I both got job transfers to Barnacle Bay.  After packing up everything and hiring a moving van, Miguel, Luis, Beth and I made the long trip to our new home.  We purchased a large cliff side lot overlooking the Bay and rebuilt our house and spent Sunday getting settled in and checking out the town.

Both Miguel and Luis have now graduated from high school.  Luis was voted most popular in school which is pretty good for only being in school one day.  Miguel's classmates believed that he was the most likely one to save the world.  Well I guess he can help me try to keep the mad scientists off the streets in his new science career.   Luis has enrolled in the town's medical school in the hospital and will hopefully become world renown surgeon someday although his main wish is to become rich and famous.  He also plans to write novels on the side for some extra money.

Chapter Two:  Weddings

As you know, Silver already spilled the beans on my engagement to Miguel.  One evening shortly after my last update, Miguel took me to the basement of the garage after the others had gone to bed.  We chatted for awhile and then out of the blue, Miguel got down on his knee and pulled out a little black velvet box that contained the most beautiful diamond I had ever seen.  He confessed his love for me and asked me to marry him and of course I threw my arms around him and said 'YES'.

Luis and Beth also have exciting news to share.  After some coaxing from Miguel, Luis finally confessed his love to Beth and they are also now engaged to be married.   Because we are such close friends, the four of us plan to have a double wedding at the new wedding chapel located in the new hot spot in town,  "A Taste of Italy" and invite our friends from work.

A couple of days later we decided to have our double wedding at the new wedding venue at the new "Taste of Italy" tourist attraction in town and invited all of our friends.  Guess we should have checked it out first because the contractor for the venue did a poor job of building the place as the back entrance was blocked by a hill and the front had a drop off to the walkway that inaccessible, so neither our or ourselves were able to get into the chapel.  Our guests all left, but Luis and Beth along with Miguel and I decided to get get married in front of the venue at the edge of the fish moat that bordered the attraction with the little fishes as our witnesses.  The weddings turned out alright and both couples are now happily married.  We all went back to the house for a private cake cutting ceremony and after we each had a piece of cake it was time for bed.

Miguel and I have some wonderful news to share with all of our friends and that is we are expecting our first child.  There's no baby news yet from Luis and Beth but I'm sure that will change before long.  Miguel, Luis and Beth all go back to work in the morning while I'm on maternity leave.  In preparation for our new arrival, Miguel and I have already decorated the nursery and purchased a crib, toy box, and block set.  We plan to add a high chair and potty when our child becomes a toddler.
Chapter Three: Starting Over A few days after our weddings, Luis, Beth, Miguel and I decided to take some time off work and travel around the world for an extended honeymoon. We visited places like the Eiffel Tower in France, the Great Wall of China, and the Sahara Desert where we got to ride camels which was a lot of fun. Unfortunately the desert heat was too much for me one day and I suffered a miscarriage and lost my baby but fortunately the doctors were able to save my life and with lots of medical care and love from my husband and friends I made a full recovery. They say that bad news comes in bunches as when we returned home to Barnacle Bay, we found that our house had been destroyed by a tornado and that Miguel's sister-in-law had passed away in Hidden Springs and that shortly after my niece, Ruby was married to Dany Shue, their house caught fire one night and unfortunately there were no survivors. So that leaves Miguel and I to carry on the Cal legacy along with our close friends Luis and Beth who had grown up with the family and are helping us through this difficult time. The town of Hidden Springs was very supportive of us during this difficult time and with the help of Shue family we were able to have a memorial service for Michael, Jasper, Ruby and Dany at the little park across the street. Nearly the whole town was in attendance to show their support for which Miguel and I were very thankful. On behalf of Miguel, Beth and Luis we would like to express our appreciation for the love and kindness shown to us by the citizens of Hidden Springs which is a testament of the love they had for our family. After the memorial service, we moved to Riverview where Beth had accepted a new position with the local journalism office there. I was able to get a position at the Riverview science lab. Unfortunately, we also found out that our marriage certificates and Miguel and Luis's high school diplomas had gotten destroyed when a small fire had broken out in the records room of the City Hall in Barnacle Bay. This means that Miguel and I along with Luis and Beth have to renew our marriage licenses and get remarried. Luis and Miguel also have to go back to school for a day so that they can be reissued their diplomas. I think that we'll just have a quiet wedding ceremony at the house when Beth and I remarry our true loves as we all want to start our families as soon as possible. Well we are just getting settled into our new lives in Riverview. Our insurance paid to have our house and furnishings all replaced and we found a nice riverside lot located on Ely Road just past the small trailer park on which to build our house. Miguel and Luis will be getting their replacement diplomas tomorrow at the graduation ceremony at the Town Hall. Please join Luis, Beth, Miguel and I as we begin our new lives in Riverview as we carry on the Cal family legacy of a Stable Home in part two of the second generation while maintaining the faithful legacy that my parents, Keiler and Alicia Steel passed on to me. Guess that covers the news update for now and may you all have a great night!

Take care,

Patricia, Miguel, Luis, and Beth

Athletes in Action Legacy: Generation 1

Introduction

Hi, my name is April Lace and I've just moved to Bridgeport to start my athletic career as the soccer team offered me a scholarship to their school of athletics.  I started out as a rabid fan and have already been promoted to snack hawker and get to serve healthy snacks to both the team members and loyal fans to come to cheer on the team at their games.

After speaking with a local real estate representative, I found an apartment with a nice pool to swim in located at 73 Embarcadero Drive.  Once the apartment was renovated to a one-bedroom,  I moved my things in and settled into my new life.  Some neighbors came to welcome me,  William Fangman and Wayne Bumble who were quite rude at first and Harry Marks.  Harry was much friendlier then the other two and came back to visit the next night.  Hopefully someday I'll meet my soulmate in this town so that I can start a family to carry on my athletic dream of being a superstar athlete.  The main focus of this legacy is to raise children that are athletic and maintain a healthy lifestyle in no matter what career they choose and who will pass the importance of exercise on to their families.

Please join me as I continue my quest to become a Supertar Athlete and help bring the Bridgeport Llamas to victory in the playoffs.

Take care and stay active,

April

"The Legacy of a Stable Home Life" Generation Two

Prologue

The wonderful legacy of Mick and Mindy Cal has now been past onto me, Michael to carry on their story and to raise our children with the same values that my parents taught their children.  It is with sorrow and happiness that I write this introduction to the second generation.

Dad sends his regards to all of Mindy's friends who have followed their story but is now mourning the loss of his dear wife, Mindy who passed away two days ago and leaves the rest of her family to mourn as well.  Mom was always there for us children and would stop whatever she was doing to comfort us when we crying, help us with homework and to simply chat and encourage us to improve our skills.  Dad is the same way and  Emerald and I will strive to maintain the eternally faithful reputation that my parents achieved during their many years as husband and wife.  With lots of love for each other, Emerald and I should be able to achieve this as we have already received the 'faithful' distinction among our family and friends.   Emerald is also mourning the death of her mother Holly but is thankful that she had invited her over for the afternoon and was able to have a nice visit with her mom.  Apparently, Holly passed away of a heart attack just after she returned home from her outing.

Now for the good news,  Emerald and I welcomed our first child into the world, a son, whom we named Jasper in keeping with jewel names of the Greenwoods.  He was born with the friendly and athletic traits.   Grampie Mick just loves his little grandson to death and is always seeing to his needs before either Emerald and I can get there.  We don't mind though because Emerald and  I both know that Dad's days with us are numbered, so we want him to have as much time with Jasper as possible.

In other family news,  Miguel gave me a rainbow gem that he found in France and I was able to send it to the science lab to make the special formula for making imaginary friends real.  It costs a lot of money to do this but it was worth making my friend, Mickey a real human.  Even though Mickey can be a little inappropriate at times he has become best friends with the whole family.  He and my sister, Misty fell in love with each other almost at first sight and are now engaged to be married.  After they are married they'll move into a house of their own and Misty has another rainbow gem that she has sent to the science lab and plans to make her imaginary friend, Beth real when the move out.    Mitzi has also entered into an exclusive romantic relationship with Marcos Hunter and will probably soon be engaged as well.  Miguel is the only one left in school and he is on his way to be graduating with top marks in his class.   Mickey has joined the fashion consultant profession and Misty plans to be a scientist.

Chapter One:  Eventful Times in the Cal Household

A few days after Mom passed away, the Grim Reaper came to collect Dad as well.  It was a sad time when he passed away but Emerald and I are comforted by the fact that my father lived longed enough to enjoy some quality time with his grandson, Jasper.  Dad loved to hold Jasper any chance he got.  We'll miss you, Dad and thank you for being such a great father to your children.  Emerald and I will pass the values you taught us onto our children and grandchildren.  Due to our upbringing, I already have the 'eternally faithful' reputation among our family and friends.

Shortly after being made a human, Mickey had his last name legally changed to Calvin.  He is doing quite well as a stylist and has had a lot of referrals sent to him.  Of course, there are always those that say they they like a particular outfit at first but then decide when the makeover is done that they hate it.  I encourage Mickey to keep at it though as there are just some people that you can never please no matter what you do for them.

The biggest news is that Mickey and Misty are now happily married.  Their dating period was not without it's struggles, but then what relationship isn't.  Apparently Misty had gotten into a romantic relationship with Zachery Jones-Brown at her prom but never really pursued each other after graduation, so when she became engaged to Mickey the townsfolk dubbed her as being naughty but Mickey is a great guy who overlooked all of the gossip surrounding Misty and just loves her for who she is.   In Misty's defense, she did try several times to meet with Zachery to break off the romantic part of their relationship and just be friends, well acquaintances as their friendship had dwindled that much but of course the rest of the town didn't realize that.   Finally just before the wedding, Misty went to visit Zachery and asked to be just friends, to which he agreed and he seems to respect Misty a lot more for being honest with him.  I think my sister's naughty reputation could have been avoided though if they had broken things off sooner.  A very important lesson that  has been learned is that not all high school crushes work out and it is not always wise to fall for the first person that says they like you.

A few days after the wedding, Mickey and Misty have purchased and moved into a new home located at 178 Savannah Lane which is just a block over from the family homestead.  Emerald and I are very happy for them and look forward to visiting them and hopefully we'll have new nieces or nephews to love.  Since Dad and Mom aren't here to spoil them, we will be happy to take on the roll of the aunt and uncle who love to spoil their little nieces and nephews and we also want our children to have lots of fun playing with their cousins.

Miguel has received a scholarship to finish his studies at a new college in Hidden Springs which is a new town on the other side of SimWorld.   My friend, Ryder Steel's sister has just moved there to join their science lab and has agreed to let Miguel stay with her.  They have been communicating by email for a few days now and have already developed a close friendship so don't be surprised if they get married once he finishes his studies.

Beth is settling well in her new life here with us and has gotten a job in the local journalism office as she wants to be a star news anchor someday.  She is a sweet girl and Emerald and I are sure that she will succeed in whatever she does.  Who knows maybe she'll even find her true love someday.

As you already know from Patricia Steel that Miguel has arrived safely with Beth.  The airlines wouldn't let Miguel travel alone as a minor so Beth decided to take a job offer at the journalism office in Hidden Springs and travel with him.  They are both settling well into Patricia's house and have become fast friends and Miguel has been able to quickly regain his honor status in his new school.
Well, I guess that's all the news for now and hope that everyone has a wonderful day.

Mickey and Misty have settled well into their new home although the rest of the town thinks their a little weird.  Who would have thought that prejudice was rampid in our little town of Twinbrook but it  is.  Apparently Misty got accused of woohooing with a 'cult' after she and Mickey tried for a baby the first time.   After a couple of tries to have a baby naturally,  they decided to adopt a newborn baby girl by the name of Christy, whose real mother was just a teenager herself and could not afford to keep her baby and wanted her to be raised in a loving home and put her up for adoption when she was born.  Emerald and I have both been to see our little niece and she is just precious.

Our son, Jasper has aged up into a child and is ready to start school on Monday.  He has developed the snob trait which Emerald and I hope to change as he grows up.   I would like to take this opportunity to announce that we are expecting are second child and are hoping for a sister for Jasper.

The biggest news in the family is that Mitzi has just gotten engaged to Zachery Jones-Brown who was a close friend from high school.  They became romantically involved one evening when Zachery asked her out on a date and confessed his feelings for her.  This happened while Mickey and Misty were getting settled in their new home.   We plan to have the wedding ceremony on Sunday before everyone goes back to work.  Emerald and I fixed up a room for them above the garage where they will live with their children when they come.  We will all share our meals in the main house though.

Chapter Two:  Life at Best is Very Brief

As you know, Zachery and Mitzi had a private family in the backyard of our home and were able to spend a few short days in each others love.  A few days after the birth of our daughter, Ruby, Mitzi went to France to try to find a rainbow gem to make her imaginary friend real.  She wrote to us while she was away and said that she was having a good time making new friends and going various adventures for the locals.  She was asked by a local who was researching  the Landgraab history to retrieve some special papers from the mansion to prove that a local young woman was murdered there.  After surviving five electrocutions from traps at the mansion, she finally found and delivered the papers.    The rest of jobs were minor which included asking someone to go on a date with Jeannine Lambert and helping another local plan a big dinner.  She also caught some more perfect fish for her aquarium.

Now for the tragic news,  Edith Morel, the lady for whom Mitzi was asked to get her dinner ingredients, also asked to catch two crocodiles for which she would have to travel to Egypt for.  Mitzi decided to come home and let her husband travel to Egypt as Zachery wants to max travel visa for all three countries.   We received word, however, that her plane tragically crashed into the ocean on the return flight home and their were no survivors.  Please keep Zachery in your thoughts as he mourns the lost of his dear wife.  He is thankful and will always cherish the love and their short time together.  The rest of us miss her as well but understandably Zachery is taking his loss quite hard.  They had wanted to start a family together, so after the morning period is over my brother-in-law plans to adopt a child and make sure that he or she grows up knowing about their mother who was taken away so suddenly.

Chapter Three:  Making New Memories in a New Town

As you know, Zachery moved to Riverview shortly after Mitzi's death to start a new life for himself and start his world travel dream.  Our close friend, Felicia went to be with Zachery during his period of grief and transferred her military career to the military base in Riverview.  At last report, they have become close friends and have settled in nicely.

Emerald and I also moved our family to Sunset Valley as Emerald was offered a job transfer in the local government of the town.   After moving our house to a lot across from the Bunch family homestead, we decided to purchase another home that Emerald fell in love upon our arrival in Sunset Valley.  The house is located at  442 Skyborough Blvd and after remodeling the upstairs to accommodate the needs of our family, we moved in.  We also built workshop with a cellar for making nectar and for housing Mitzi's fish as we have decided to carry on with her dream of opening an aquarium in her honor and memory.  There's not as much yard space as our other house but it has just enough room for my garden, the hot tub and our tree house.

Our son, Jasper is now a teenager and because we couldn't transfer his grades from Twinbrook, he aged up with a daredevil trait.  Fortunately he is slowly outgrowing his snob trait and is becoming kinder towards others as he realizes that time is too short to look down at other people and that he is now the new kid in town.  Our daughter, Ruby, will soon be starting school and Emerald wants to have one more child be reaching her senior years.  It's hard to believe that I will become a senior in a couple of days and Emerald will be not far behind.  Where does the time go?  Just seems like yesterday that Emerald and I were married after graduating from high school.

Chapter Four:  Another New Home in Hidden Springs

Emerald was really not happy with the house we bought in Sunset Valley as she found it two big and impersonal.  One day while she was looking at the real estate listings online, Emerald fell in love with a country home in a new town called Hidden Valley that also boasted of a beautiful in-law suite.  After talking to her boss in the government offices, Emerald was able to get a job transfer to the Hidden Springs political offices.  Since I still work at the mausoleum, it was no problem for me to transfer my job to the graveyard in Hidden Springs as they were short staffed there.

We then sold our home with all of our furniture and moved to 12 Hidden Brook Drive and bought all new furniture, two cars and decorated the house according to our needs.  I even put in a spiral staircase in the main house in case we add an upstairs someday.  The smaller in-law suite had a bedroom, kitchen/living area, and a bathroom but we took out the the kitchen and made that area a family room. Now that we are settled and Emerald and Jasper have both had their first day at school and work.  Emerald and I timed our move to coincide with Jasper's first day of high school so that he wouldn't be behind in any of his classes.  Ruby will be starting school in a couple of days.

Believe it or not, today is my birthday and I'm going to be entering the dreaded senior years.  It just seems like yesterday that Emerald and I were married and starting our family and it's now almost time to choose which of our children we want to carry the Cal legacy into the third generation.  We will wait until Ruby is in high school before we make that decision.   Jasper wants to be a scientist like his grandfather when he grows up and we'll have to wait and see what Ruby decides to do.

Chapter Four: The Ups and Downs of Life

Emerald and I a pleased to announce that Jasper has graduated from high school with honors and was voted valedictorian of his class. Jasper is now employed at the the local science lab and has already been promoted to level two lab tech. Ruby has just attended her prom and had lots of fun even though she got into a few fights with someone who dumped punch on her and another who made fun of her. Her evening wasn't a total loss though as she became romantically involved with her classmate, Dany Shue.

Right after her prom was over, Ruby left on a trip to France to interview a local for her class project. While there, she was asked by the local Special Merchant to find some special papers at the Landgraab mansion that prove that a young girl had been murdered there. Ruby managed to find the papers and only stepped in one electrical trap in the process and Emerald and I are happy to say that our daughter has made it home safely. Before returning home, Ruby was able to find a rainbow gem and visit the nectary and purchased some nectar making equipment.

Home life hasn't been a perfect bed of roses since my last update. Not too long after we moved to Hidden Springs, Emerald and I were able to regain our faithful status but thanks to the paparazzi blowing one my actions out of proportion and accusing me of cheating on Emerald my faithful reputation was replaced with 'cheating'. I'm not sure what I said or did that would make people think that. The only thing I can think of is that I became quick friends with a co-worker of Emerald's while chatting with her after Jasper's graduation and might have asked a question that seemed flirty which is not the impression I meant to make. Nevertheless, I spent the next two days reassuring Emerald that she is my only true love and that I would never intentionally hurt her. Emerald was understandably upset but by the next morning had forgiven me and actually our relationship is much closer now as we both know to be careful of the topics we talk about when chatting with others and make sure that anything that is considered romantic stays between the two of us.

With both Emerald and I now well into our senior years the time has come to choose our heir for the next generation. We would love to have both of our children take over the homestead but we know that is not possible, so since Ruby is the one that shows the most promise of getting married after high school , Emerald and I have chosen her to be heir. Jasper is happy for his sister and knows that he is always welcome to visit and will continue to live at home until he finds his own place or his true love comes along.

Well that's all the news for now and I hope that everyone is having a wonderful day.

Take care,

Michael Cal

Charity Hardy's Mystery Stories

Welcome friends, the world of mysteries awaits you.  This is Charity Hardy (nee Steel) who just moved from Bridgeport to Twinbrook to accept a position in the local government.  You'll never guess who I met on my flight to sign my employment papers.  It was none other than Frank Hardy who was also on his way to Twinbrook to start his own private investigator business after hearing of all the recent trouble in the town with banged up garden gnomes, car thieves and other underground crime.  Being a mystery writer myself, I grew up reading all about the exciting cases that Frank and his brother Joe had solved all around the world with help from Nancy Drew at times.

Frank and I chatted on the flight and one thing led to another and we fell in love just like that and instead of a long drawn out dating affair we decided to get married shortly after arriving in Twinbrook.  We purchased a funky house on Bayou Glutch Drive called Aerie Supply and added an upstairs and a garage with a family room and two more bedrooms for our growing family.  Yes, we are already expecting our first child and are so excited.   We plan to turn the bedroom next to ours into a nursery so we can keep a close eye on our young ones.

In addition to working for the local government, I play to write mystery stories on the side based on my husband's cases he solves locally and abroad.   Painting is another passion of mine and hope to someday master both my writing and painting skills.  Frank and I hope to pass our talents on to our children so that someday at least one of them will either want to write novels or solve the mysteries that elude our local law enforcement team.

Please join Frank and I as we work together to make our Sim World a safe place for our fellow Sims.  No case is to small or large for Frank to handle.  Bye the way,  Joe hopes to join his brother once he graduates from the police academy.  Having Joe in the local police department will hopefully stop the other local cops from giving them a hard time.

Frank just solved his first case for Sinbad Rotter who is a decoy in the criminal career, guess even criminals have cases that need to be solved.   Some cases may seem minor to some but to the client they are very important and as Frank says no case is too small or insignificant.  Sinbad apparently had this special garden gnome that someone was kicking.  He suspected his neighbor Phoenix Prudence of doing the dastardly deed and wanted Frank to snoop in Mr Prudence's garbage for clues.  After getting caught by Phoenix on the first try, Frank finally found some suspicious beat up sneakers in the suspect's garbage and after chatting with Phoenix for a while was able to get a confession.  Phoenix had some anger issues and was taking his frustrations out on the poor garden gnome.  Sinbad was pleased went Frank delivered the news but was soon back to his mean self and instead of thanking Frank for his trouble Sinbad yelled at him for no reason.  I guess there is no pleasing some people.

Now on to more pleasant things,  our first child Joe arrived into the world and is a healthy, bouncing little boy who is brave and perceptive like his father.  When he is old enough, we plan to decorate one of the bedrooms off the garage for his own little retreat, but like most children he will probably spent a lot of time playing in his tree house.

Well it's been a busy but wonderful day in the Hardy household.  Join me in the near future for Frank's next case which involves digging up some dirt on someone.

Happy sleuthing everyone,
Charity
